What is a CMS?

CMS stands for Content Management System. There are many different kinds of CMS, and Flux is a website CMS. A website CMS is a system that separates the content of a web site (the text, images, and downloadable files) from the framework of linking pages together and controlling how the pages appear. In most cases, this is done to make a site easier to maintain than would be the case if it was built exclusively out of hard-coded HTML pages.

Who wrote Flux?

Flux is the in-house CMS product of 2am Webworks. Flux was first launched in October 2000 and since that time has been used on over 150 sites Australia-wide.

Is Flux open source software?

No, Flux is a commercially-produced CMS.
